Construction and project management

Software for the Construction industry – so that processes are not recorded four times

Specialist applications, mobile capture and interfaces for construction companies, planning offices and project controllers. We build the connections between construction site, office and billing – where your industry software stops.

mobile and offline capableStandard formats such as GAEB and IFC
One addendum, four stations
Where days are lost
1
Detected on site
Deviation is noticeable, is photographed and recorded in the building diary.
2
Measurement and evaluation
Quantities are recorded, often in a separate list next to the system.
3
Preparation and voting
The same information is collected a third time, now for the client.
4
Settlement
And a fourth time so that the accounting can process them.
Schematic. Experience has shown that the marked step is the most expensive – not because of the effort, but because deadlines break here.

What it typically depends on the construction

Six starting points that reach us from construction companies and planning offices again and again. None of these are software problems in the narrower sense – all have become one.

Too many participants, too many stands
Builder, planner, construction manager, trades and subcontractors each keep their own lists. The current status is the one that someone sent last by mail.
Addendums cost more than they bring
The claim exists, but the proof is missing or comes too late. What everyone knows on the construction site cannot be proven in the event of a dispute.
Measurement and performance drift apart
The quantities on the construction site do not match those in the billing, and no one can say in a hurry which number is the right one.
Documentation arises incidentally or not at all
Photos are on private telephones, the building diary is written in the evening from memory. In an emergency, exactly one document is missing.
Defects and acceptances run through lists
Who reported which defect when and whether it was corrected is in a table that three people care for differently.
Systems do not talk to each other
Calculation, construction accounting, merchandise management and time recording lead to their own truths. It is transmitted by hand.

What This Means for Software

Six requirements that are different in construction than in the office world – and that explain why standard tools from other industries often fail here.

Offline must work
On a construction site there are basements, shells and radio holes. An application that only captures online is not used – and then it is written on slips of paper again.
Operating with gloves and in the sun
Large buttons, high contrasts, few steps. Who has to click three menu levels deep, recorded at the end of the day in the container.
Evidence arises at the moment of establishment
Photo, place, time and process are captured together. Subsequently assigned images have little value in case of dispute.
Rights across company boundaries
Subcontractors should see their part and nothing else. This is more than a role management in your own house.
Standard formats obtained
GAEB for tendering, allocation and settlement, IFC for model data. Anyone who leaves these paths is disconnected from all other participants.
Deadlines are part of the technical logic
Advertisements, disabilities and addenda depend on deadlines. A software that does not remember this gives away exactly what it would be there for.

What we do – and what we do not

So you can save yourself the conversation if it does not fit.

This is what we're building
  • Specialist applications for a specific process that no package covers
  • Mobile acquisition for the construction site, offline-capable
  • Interfaces between calculation, accounting and goods management
  • Evaluations across projects, trades and subcontractors
  • Transfer of data from detached systems
We're not building that
  • A finished construction software off the shelf
  • Calculation or billing packages as a product
  • CAD and planning tools

We do not compete against the established industry packages – they do their job well. We start where these packages end: the process that your house does differently than everyone else, and the connections between systems that do not talk to each other ex works.

Frequent questions

Usually yes, and that is the normal case. We do not replace the existing packages, but complement them at the point where they do not represent your process and connect them with the other systems. The prerequisite is that your software offers an interface or at least a clean export – we check that at the beginning.
Yes, this is standard for us and not an additional option. Captured operations and photos are stored locally on the device and transferred as soon as there is a connection again. Everything else does not stop on a real construction site.
Yes, with its own accesses and limited view. They see their actions and nothing more. You determine how narrow or wide this blank is – technically, both are possible.
Yes. We adhere to the established exchange formats, because everything else would decouple you from clients and planners. GAEB for tendering, awarding and billing, IFC for model data, plus the usual ways in your building billing.
With a narrowly defined sequence: the registration of defects, the building diary or the supplementary documentation. This creates something usable in a few weeks, which shows whether it wears in everyday life. Only then will it be expanded.
It depends on the blank. The drivers are the scope of the specialist logic, the number of interfaces to existing systems and the question of whether mobile capture is included. After the initial call, you get a resilient range, not a house number.
Yes, complete, including documentation and access. Construction projects run for years and software should not depend on a single service provider.
Where are you duplicated?
Tell us about a process that too often goes through too many hands. You get an honest assessment of whether your own software is worth it – and if not, which helps instead.
